PSHCE is delivered during the weekly form period, by each form teacher and our Year 3 children are allocated an additional timetabled lesson. Some particular areas are covered within subject lessons, by specialist staff, and visiting speakers are also invited into the school.
Children are introduced to topics on self-awareness, citizenship, health and personal safety, and relationships. There is a spiralling curriculum, so that children are able to develop responsibility for their own actions, an awareness of the role of an active citizen, a healthy and safe lifestyle, and a respect for the differences between cultures, both in the UK and across the world.
Here, children enjoy a flexible programme, which can be adapted to include current affairs and items of importance that arise from daily events. Throughout, the content is accessible to all children, irrespective of gender, ethnicity or ability.
