Homework

We are proud of the strong links between home and school. There are systems inplace we consider to be fundamental in maintaining good communications, for example, checking and signing of prep (homework) and the reading record. We are asked on a regular basis questions along the lines of, “Is it all right if I help with maths?" or, “Is there anything I can do to help with history or geography?"

We offer regular support groups for parents in mathematics and English, giving guidance on how to help with prep; in addition we issue booklets each year giving further curriculum guidance.

Prep is set on a daily basis from Monday to Friday. The amount of time spent completing prep is bound to vary according to the individual, but work is set which should take approximately the following times:
  • Year 3 – 25 minutes
  • Year 4 – 30 minutes
  • Year 5 – 35 minutes
  • Year 6 – 40 minutes
