Testing takes place within school to inform both teaching and learning. Children take assessments in reading, spelling, comprehension and key subject areas. Children all sit the Performance Indicator tests administered by Durham University; these give us a good indication of progress being made. Key Stage 2 tests are sat by the children at some point in Year 6 and are now marked internally.

Year 5 children all take English Speaking Board examinations
At Key Stage 1, levels range from 1 to 3 (1 lowest and 3 highest), with children expected to achieve at least level 2. At Key Stage 2, levels range from 3 to 5 (3 lowest and 5 highest), with children expected to achieve at least level 4. Figures below are compared to the national average:
