There are lots of opportunities for making music and singing. Singing fills the building every morning as assembly takes place and children learn many songs and rhymes of different styles. Children recognise and explore how sounds can be organised by playing hand bells, recorders keyboards and percussion instruments. They learn to perform simple rhythmic patterns and provide accompaniments to a steady pulse. Children respond to the different moods and effects in music by listening to a variety of music before assembly and during lessons.
