Personal, social and emotional development

Children develop emotional well being, respect for others, social confidence and a positive disposition to learning, through a wide range of play and learning experiences. Each week, the Foundation Stage classrooms have a play focus, with children being provided with a range of dressing up clothes and props for imaginative role-play. Personal independence is fostered at snack times and lunch times with Foundation Stage 3 using the self-service system in the dining room. Positive images are provided in books and displays; these challenge children’s thinking and help them to embrace differences in gender, ethnicity, religion, special educational needs and disabilities.
