The AQA spec B syllabus is taught at both AS and A2 at Ryde. (see www.aqa.com)
The AS consists of two units or modules:
Unit 1 – Introducing Psychology which includes: Approaches - the different ways of looking at the mind; Research Methods - the different techniques applied in studying psychology; Psychology of Gender - as an example to consider the approaches and methods used in its study and understanding.
Unit 2 – Social, Cognitive Psychology and Individual Differences –social influence, remembering and forgetting and anxiety disorders.
The A2 consists of two units.
Unit 3 - Child Development and Applied Options - This includes aspects of moral, social and cognitive development in children. The options are cognition and the law, Mood disorders and Schizophrenia.
Unit 4 - Perspectives, debates and methods in Psychology, which is more or less an over-view module and rather akin to a synoptic paper.
